Swedish car manufacturer Saab also known as Saab Automobile AB originates from the Swedish Aeroplane Company that began manufacturing aircraft in 1937 for the Swedish Air Force. Towards the end of World War II the company was looking to expand and in 1944 began project 92, which was to build the first Saab passenger car. Influenced by Saab's foundations in aviation the 92 car was so stream line in design that it had a minimal 0.30 drag coefficient making the Saab 92 the lowest drag coefficient production car at the time
